Instagram Brand Account Growth Project

Project Overview

I created and managed an Instagram brand account for 3 months, focusing on short-form Reels content about daily life as a Korean student in Vancouver.

Before starting, I set clear goals using the SMART framework and consistently optimized content based on performance data.

Goal Setting
(SMART Framework)

  • S (Specific):
    Post Vancouver student life Reels twice a week

  • M (Measurable):
    8 Reels per month / Maintain 1,000+ views per video

  • A (Achievable):
    Short-form videos around 30 seconds

  • R (Relevant):
    Relatable + informative Reels
    (daily life, language struggles, cultural moments)

  • T (Time-bound):
    October–December 2025 (3 months)

Target Audience

  • Korean students and working holiday makers in Canada, people interested in studying or working abroad, and English learners who relate to confidence struggles in speaking.

Strategy & Execution​​​

  • Used CapCut for all video editing

  • Analyzed viral Reels to break down:

    • Hook timing (first 3 seconds)

    • Script flow and emotional pacing

    • Comment-driving questions

  • Adapted proven hook structures into original, authentic content

  • Focused on confidence-driven storytelling rather than perfection

Results

  • Reached 100 followers within the first month

  • One Reel achieved 20,000+ views within the first month

  • Maintained an average of 2,000 views per Reel

  • After 3 months:

  • 350 followers

  • 130,000 total views
